There is no formal scoring protocol or interpretation, other than identifying whether a person has experienced one or more of the events listed. For each event type, respondents indicate whether they experienced the event themselves, witnessed it, learned about it and/or experienced it as part of their job. The LEC-5 is commonly administered with the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5). At the time of writing, no studies have been conducted to validate the LEC-5 among people with AOD use disorders.
